A word from the Executive Director

I started CHAI over 20 years ago, as an initiative of BASICS 11 United States Agency for International Development (USAID). I spend my time working with the federal and local governments to promote healthy living and child survival in Nigeria, with primary focus on maternal and child health issues.

In 2018, I became the United Nations Scaling Up Nutrition Champion for Nigeria (SUN), and have since been the lead driver for nutrition initiatives in the country. I also consult for USAID and Save the Children International.

Currently, I am a Board Member at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), and a current member of the Lagos State Maternal & Child Mortality Reduction Committee. Over the years, I have authored two best-selling nutrition books titled “Baby & Child Care” and “Breastfeeding Made Easy.” I am a notable nutrition expert in Nigeria, and an international child rights advocate.
